Rules for Volvo Golf Champions Amateur-Pro Competition
One of the main ingredients this year will be the opportunity for our amateurs to play in a professional tournament. It will be incredibly exciting and prestigious and far beyond what a normal PRO-AM can offer. The format will be a Team Competition in which one amateur and two pros will form a team. This will take place on the Links Course, Fancourt on Friday 20th January.

Approximately 20 World Finalists will qualify for this once in a lifetime experience. Exactly how many will be determined by the cut in our professional tournament, Volvo Golf Champions.

The World Final takes place on Wednesday and Thursday 18th & 19th January on the Montagu Course, Fancourt Resort. The qualification forPlaying with the Pros is based on the result of the World Final

The format is an individual Stableford.

Maximum handicaps are 24 for men and 28 for ladies. Players can qualify for Playing with the Pros(and the Volvo World Golf Challenge World Final)with higher handicaps but they can only play off the maximum as above. However in the Playing with the Pros qualification and Team Competition we will reduce all handicaps with an additional 2/3. This method is used in similar activities in Europe and the U.S.

This means that a 24 handicapper receives 16 shots over 18 holes. A 12 handicapper will receive 8 shots. A 6 handicapper receives 4 shots.
