Austria’s ‘Magnificent Seven’ Summer of Sport

23rd May sees the big tee-off in Volvo Cars Austria’s third successive season of amateur golf as the players at Golf Club Bodensee-Weissensberg start out on the long road to their national final and the possibility of a place in the Volvo Masters Amateur World Final in Spain.

The action then moves to GC Murstätten, GC Ottenstein and GC Föhrenwald during June with the final three qualifying championships in July, at GC Traunsee Kircham, GC St Pölten and the Golf & Country Club Salzburg Schloss Klessheim.

Then it is on to the magnificent Zell am see / Kaprun club for the all-Austria national final, the 'Schmittenhöhe' and 'Kitzsteinhorn' courses, named in honour of the local mountains of the region, one of the country’s toughest tests of golf, scenically set in the foothills of the Austrian Alps.

“We are delighted with the way Volvo Masters Amateur golf has developed in Austria and welcome all our players for what promises to be an enjoyable and competitive 2009 season,” says Harald Antlanger of Volvo Cars Austria adding, “We are also delighted to welcome Titleist and Cosmosgolf as our partners and wish each and every one of our dealers and their guests, ‘good luck’ in their quest for a seat on the plane to Spain in October.
