The Forest course at Holstebro Golf Club is widely regarded as one of the finest designs in Denmark. Founded 40 years ago, it was remodelled in 2004 by one of the world’s leading golf course architects, Robert Trent Jones Junior, and now offers a tough but hugely enjoyable test. The holes run through a beautiful pine forest and in September 2011 were home to Volvo Trucks’ hosting of its qualification tournament for the Volvo World Golf Challenge.

In the UK, there are well over 2,500 golf clubs. This means that competition for a place in the World Final of the Volvo World Challenge is intense. In recognition of the enormity of the event, Volvo now operates its own annual tour for amateur golfers.

Colin Montgomerie, Louis Oosthuizen, Matteo Manassero and Tom Lewis are the latest stars to confirm their entry into the European Tour’s first-ever true ‘tournament of champions’ event, the Volvo Golf Champions, at The Links at Fancourt, from 19th – 22nd January.

The annual climax of the prestigious and hugely popular Volvo World Golf Challenge is set to take place in January at the spectacular Fancourt resort in South Africa.
